With an increase in digital platforms for banking the ease and speed of doing financial transactions has improved tremendously but on the down side the number of people being defrauded has increased manifold.

Be Aware Be Safe
- Never give your PIN, OTP,CVV, password or confidential information over the phone or internet. Do not share thesedetails with anyone even if the person claims to be a bank official.
- Do not click on links in the SMSes or emails informing you that your account will be blocked if you donot update KYC/PAN/Aadhaar details.
- Never respond to unverified or spam emails.
- Always memorise your PIN and passwords. Never write them or share them with anyone.
- Change your PIN and passwords at regular intervals.
- Don’t use predictable passwords such as DOB or family member’s name. Always use a mix of alphabets, numbers, uppercase, lowercase and special characters.
- Don’t download software or content from untrustworthy sites.
- Keep your mobile number and email ID registered and updated in bank’s records to get alerts of transactions.
- Never download an application from any unverified / unknown sources.
- Do NOT give your ATM card to anyone for withdrawal of cash or take assistance / guidance from strangers / unknown persons at the ATMs.
- Be cautious while scanning QR code/s using any payment app. QR codes have account details embedded in them to transfer money to a particular account.
- Never scan any QR code to receive money. Transactions involving receipt of money do not require scanning barcodes / QR codes or entering mobile banking PIN , passwords, etc
- Do not share personal and confidential information on social media platforms.
- Avoid using public / unknown charging ports / cables.
- Don’t use public wi fi and computers while banking online.
- Never respond to messages offering promising prize money, lottery, offers etc – nobody gives free money
- Always check for a secure payment gateway (https:// – URL with a pad lock symbol) before making online payments / transactions.
- Do not share copies of cheque book, KYC documents with strangers.
- Check your bank statements regularly. In case of any discrepancy contact the bank immediately.
